Anyone who is having troubles should pray.James 5:13

As most of you know October found us $1,000 behind. I attended both services to let people know the situation and asked for prayers. I even got specific and asked everyone to pray at 7:00 each night. My phone chimes every night now at seven and I know that other people are praying as well. Well, at the end of the month, we were left with a $300 bill to pay and had $200 in the checking account before the last October Sunday Collection. I believe prayer works.

Do you want to know how to deepen your prayer life? Pray. Don’t prepare to pray. Just pray. Don’t read a book on prayer, just pray.  Don’t be so concerned about wrapping the gift that you never give it.  Better to pray awkwardly than not at all.  And if you feel you should only pray when inspired, that’s okay.  Just see to it that you are inspired every night at 7:00!!

November finds us struggling to pay our bills, but we are paying them.  With God’s help and your prayers we will continue to pay them and end the year with a balanced budget. Commitment Sunday was November 18th. If you haven’t turned in a faith promise card please bring it to church on Sunday or mail it to the church at your earliest convenience.

What’s the difference between a faith-promise card and a commitment card? Prayer! A faith promise looks directly to God, asking in effect: "How much can I trust God to give through me?" This offers God a channel through which He can pour limitless amounts into His work through us. Our faith in God's ability to provide the full amount and the faithfulness to make the promise are the key. This type of giving is limited only by God's purpose.

Our God and our Father, help us to remember when we worry about the future to ask for enough for today.  Just as the Israelites found enough manna for their days needs, so help us to find enough money for today’s requirements.  Thank You that we have money to pay our bills, health to do Your work, and faith to trust You with tomorrow.  AMEN.

God Bless,
