The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.  Psalm 23:1

The kids looked up the twenty third Psalm this week in Sunday school and decided that there were a lot of things that they wanted but didn’t get.  This led to a discussion about the difference between wants and needs.  And isn’t that something we all need to remind ourselves of?  We are all too aware of the things that we want and sometimes we are completely oblivious to the things we need and the fact that we already have them!

I am happy to report that all bills are paid and we look to be in good shape for the coming months but we must never take it for granted.  As I asked in the beginning of the year, I’m still looking for your commitment to pray for this church and its finances.  God knows our needs before we ask Him (see Matthew 6:8) but he still needs us to be in conversation with Him.

We pray because we love God,

We pray because we depend on God                                                                                                                                We pray because God commands us to pray

I’d like to remind everyone that Thursday, May 3, 2012 is the National Day of Prayer. Please plan on offering prayers of praise and petition for our church, our town, our state, our country and the world.

Our God and our Faithful Father, You keep all Your promises and Your covenant with us.  Thank You for Your daily provisions in our lives and for always providing what we need.  We rejoice in the knowledge that You always supply all of our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus, our Lord.  AMEN.

God Bless,

Sherri Willhelm

Finance Chair

***We are still accepting commitment cards for 2012.  Help us reach our goal for the number of people who commit to financially support our Church.

***Also we are looking for people to commit to be a part of the financial ministry, this would require attending 4 meetings a year in order to be updated on the churches finances and, of course, praying for the finance ministry and the decisions it makes. Please talk to Sherri if your interested
